This Privacy Policy describes the policies and procedures of Athanasso (referred to as "We", "Us", "Our", or "Developer") regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Your information when You use the Media Tracker mobile application (the "Service", or "App").

Interpretation and Definitions

The words of which the initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.

Collecting and Using Your Personal Data

Types of Data Collected

Media Tracker is designed to keep your watchlist data private and local. The App itself does not independently collect or store personal identifiable information like your name, address, or email on our servers.

However, the App relies on the following third-party services that may collect data:

• The Movie Database (TMDB) API: Used to fetch TV show and movie information, posters, cast details, and episode data. Queries are made using an API key but are not linked to your personal identity.
• Google Books API: Used to search and display book information for the optional Books tracking feature. Search queries are sent to Google's servers.
• AniList API: Used to fetch manga metadata for the optional Manga tracking feature. Queries are sent to AniList's servers.
• Google OAuth / Google Drive: If you choose to use the optional Cloud Sync feature, the App will request access to a restricted, app-specific folder in your Google Drive to store your backup data. We only access the dedicated app folder and never read or modify other files in your Drive.
• Usage Data: Anonymous usage data and crash reports may be collected automatically by third-party tools to help us improve the App's performance and stability.

Permissions Required by the App

To provide its functionality, Media Tracker requests the following permissions on your device:

• Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used to send you local reminders for upcoming releases of shows and movies in your watchlist.
• Receive Boot Completed (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): Required to reschedule local notifications and restore the automatic backup task after the device is restarted.
• Wake Lock (WAKE_LOCK): Allows the app to keep the processor awake briefly to complete background data sync operations.
• Foreground Service / Data Sync (FOREGROUND_SERVICE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_DATA_SYNC): Required to run the Google Drive cloud backup reliably in the background when you leave the app.
• Schedule Exact Alarm (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM): Needed to deliver release-date notifications at the precise time you configured.
• Internet Access: Required to fetch movie/show metadata from TMDB, Google Books, AniList, and to communicate with Google Drive for cloud sync.

All your watchlist data, watch progress, and history are stored locally on your device using high-performance on-device storage. This data is never uploaded to our servers. The optional Google Drive backup is stored directly in your own Google account.

Retention of Your Data

Because the Developer (Athanasso) does not collect personal data directly through the Media Tracker app, we do not inherently store personal records. Your watchlist data resides entirely on your device or, if you opt in, in your own Google Drive account. Any aggregated anonymous data and crash logs collected via third-party services are retained only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes of monitoring and improving the Service.

Our Service may contain links to other websites that are not operated by Us. We strongly advise You to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit. Furthermore, our third-party service providers have their own Privacy Policies for how they handle data:

We may update Our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify You of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.

Children's Privacy

Security

We use commercially reasonable safeguards for any systems we operate. Because much of Media Tracker's data stays on your device, uninstalling the App or clearing its storage removes that local information.

Your Choices

• Revoke permissions anytime in your device settings.
• Opt out of personalized ads via your Google account / device ad settings when AdMob is used.
• Delete local App data by clearing storage or uninstalling.
